THE KINOFEST FESTIVAL OF GERMAN-SPEAKING CINEMA STARTED IN PATRAS FOR THE THIRD YEAR

From the 22nd to the 25th of September and for 4 days the wonderful space of Achaia Clauss is transformed into an outdoor summer cinema with free screenings of short and feature films and hosts the 3rd KinoFest – Patras German-speaking Film Festival.


Among the films that will be screened are the Berlin Film Festival award-winning romantic comedy “I’ m Your Man” by Maria Schrader, the Swiss drama “Princess” by Peter Louise and the comedy “Next Door” starring the award-winning actor Daniel Bruhl. Finally, on Sunday 25 September at 20.05 the children’s film “Rocca, Changes the World” for children and the whole family will be screened in collaboration with the Olympia Film Festival for children and young people.

At the same time, with the support of the Austrian and Swiss embassies, selected short films will be screened in Greece.

The 3rd KinoFest – Patras German-speaking Film Festival comes from ABCinema and the Goethe Zentrum Patras.

20212020 Alma (Maren Egert) works as an anthropologist for the renowned Pergamon Museum in Berlin. In order to obtain funding to continue her research, she accepts her boss’s offer to take part in a special experiment. For three weeks, she must live with Tom (Dan Stevens), a humanoid robot whose algorithm and appearance have been tailored to match her ideal mate. A young apprentice craftsman is dizzy, and not only because of the noise at work. In a chaotic world, between dominating colleagues, an unapproachable father and a demanding partner, the young man is looking for closeness and immediacy. In the process, he crosses a boundary and gets to know himself a little better.


Fish Like Us Directed by Raphaela Schmid, Duration: 17′ , Country: Austria, Year: 2020

As part of an unusual farewell ritual, two brothers end up in a Chinese restaurant. Both feel guilty after the recent death of their mother and find it difficult to broach the subject. At another table, a father improves his daughter’s homework, at the next a date goes wrong and somewhere in between, the waiter’s collar pops. Though the tables are close, the brothers barely notice the little dramas that are taking place.
