Since 1867 until today, on the day of St. Demetrios (October 26), the patron saint of the city, the biggest trade fair of Rumeli, “the Bazaars of Nafpaktos”, begins! For one week the merchants of Nafpaktos and merchants from all over Greece “bargain” and sell their goods at low prices. For the adults it is an opportunity for shopping and “bargaining” and for the little ones a chance for fun at the amusement park. A trip for cotton candy, doughnuts, halva and souvlaki is a must. Don’t miss to try the local delicacy of the days “roasted piglet”. For one week the music, smoke and the smell of roasted pigs’ feet cover the whole town!
