The top cultural event of the Municipality of Nafpaktia, the re-enactment of the “Battle of Nafpaktos” will take place on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 20:30. The Venetian Port of the city will be transformed once again into a unique setting that will attract the interest of hundreds of residents and visitors.
The celebrations for the 451st anniversary will conclude on Sunday 9 October 2022 with the Archpriestly Divine Liturgy at the Holy Metropolitan Church of St Demetrios and will be followed by the Memorial Service at the Venetian Harbour.

“For the seventh year, Theatre Without Curtains takes over the artistic curatorship of the Re-enactment of the Battle of Nafpaktos. We are faithful to our philosophy, we give our best in order for this demanding, popular spectacle to contain poetry, art and an anti-war message, without losing its popularity.
And as every time, this year we change the visuals and staging, bringing a new aesthetic so that no two performances are the same. The dominant element of the aesthetic of this year’s show is the paper world, stated by the set design and served by the direction. We chose the paper world to emphasize the futility of war and human intolerance; the lament is equally heartbreaking on both sides! With all that the planet has been experiencing lately, it becomes all the more imperative that we need to articulate an anti-war cry.”
